Description:

The East Pasco Amateur Radio Society is one of the most active ham radio clubs in the West Central Florida section.

Some of the club activities are:

-Monthly Amateur Radio Testing - On the second Tuesday of each month.

-Weekly Club breakfasts - 9 am at the IHOP restaurant in Dade City.

-Monthly Club meetings - 8 am also at the IHOP restaurant in Dade City.

-Twice a year we hold a Hamfest - May and November at the American Legion in Dade City.

-There is a club net on the VHF and another on the UHF repeater weekly.

-We participate in the annual A.R.R.L. Field Day in June.

-We participate in the annual Winter Field Day in January.

-Every Christmas the club sets up a radio station to let children 'Talk to Santa' over amateur radio.

-Club members setup for the annual Florida State Parks on the Air event.

-Both Amater Radio NEWSLINE and A.R.R.L. Newsline are broadcasted on the Repeater twice weekly.

-We provide radio communications support for a number of local events such as the Rattlesnake 5k run and other various non-profit events.

-In December it is the Club Christmas party.

-Four times a year we all meet at The Florida Brewery to have a social get together in the evening.

-Summer BBQ Club Picnic. Usually at the Withlacoochee River Park in Dade City. (BBQ and fun).

-Fox hunts. We have Quartey, sometimes monthly, foxhunts in East Pasco. (Weather permitting)

-EPARS has been to our public libraries, many times, to present Amateur Radio to the community.

-The Club also has set up informational tables at community events like the Kumquat Festival, car shows, and other spots.

....and those are just some of the club events that keep us moving forward.

We have accomplished setting up 2 repeater networks that cover over 4 counties.

The VHF system repeater at St. Leo University is RF linked with the Wesley Chapel Repeater 24/7

There are a couple of RF remote bases connected also.

This system is also accessible from many other non-RF systems.

ALLSTAR ECHOLINK

HAMS OVER IP AMATEURWIRE (Both VOIP services)

DMR BRIDGE TO T.G.I.F.

DMR BRIDGE TO BRANDMEISTER

This system has made it very accessible for users from all over to connect to the repeater system.

The UHF system is strictly C4FM. We have a UHF repeater in both St. Leo and Wesley Chapel.

They are connect 24/7 to our Wires-X room 81609. From there we have many other clubs and individuals connect their repeater(s) to the room.

This has expanded the system all over the United States. There is no knowing what state/area you might be heard in when you put a call out on the repeater.

There are a bunch of APRS DIGIpeaters setup in and around Pasco County to fill in the gaps to make the APRS network more complete.

Communications is always one of the most important aspects of keeping members involved.

EPARS is active on multiple Social Media platforms. FaceBook, Twitter/X, Blue Sky, and Youtube. There you can be more interactive with the membership and learn what is going on in the club, in the West Florida Section, and more.

EPARS also has both an email reflector and a text message service. The emails works good to exchange thoughts and ideas. Where the Text Service sends out reminders of upcoming events such as NETS, Breakfast, and Meetings to your cell phone.

Check out www.k4ex.org for all things EPARS.
